JC Marquez has been the head coach of El Diamante Esports since the program was founded in fall of 2021. The program began active competition in state and regional leagues in the spring of 2022.

In 2023, El Diamante Esports won both major state championships in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: the PlayVS California Region Championship and the NASEF x CIF Esports Initiative California State Championship. With those titles, El Diamante became the first Central Valley high school to win an Esports state championship--let alone two. 

El Diamante Esports has active teams in NASEF x CIF Esports Initiative and PlayVS.
